Tahiti: The Pearl of the Pacific

Located in the South Pacific Ocean, Tahiti is the largest island of French Polynesia, part of the Society Islands archipelago. It lies roughly 4,400 miles (7,000 kilometres) southwest of Los Angeles and sits within one of the most remote and pristine ocean regions on earth. The island of Moorea lies just 17 kilometres to the northwest, and the legendary atoll of Bora Bora is a short scenic flight or sail away.

Climate and Attractions

Tahiti enjoys a tropical climate with two distinct seasons. The warm, humid season runs from November to April, with temperatures averaging around 86°F (30°C) and occasional tropical showers. The cooler, drier season from May to October brings pleasant temperatures around 77°F (25°C) — ideal for sailing. The island offers world-class surfing at Teahupo’o, vibrant Polynesian culture at the Papeete market, and some of the best snorkelling and diving in the world.
