Watersports
Our captain, guides and team have over 50 years of experience in Surf exploration, fishing and diving charter. We can organise surfing lessons on the outer reefs at the easier breaks like Namotu lefts and Swimming pools.
We are also very experienced in performance surfing and outer island breaks and have spent over 10 years exploring many excellent remote and uncrowded spots in the Lau group, Kadavu and the more well know spots like Frigates passage.
Diving can be arranged with local guides and equipment, we organise a pickup and drop at the vessel by experienced operators.
Fishing we have done quite a bit of and you can expect to catch and eat your own fish on Liohona. Travelly, Walu or Spanish Mackeral are common and we can go after larger game fish and pelagic like Tuna and Wahoo depending on the season.
The crew
Captain Joe “dodo” Mar is possibly the most experienced charter captain in Fiji, he has done thousands of miles with the Tradewinds catamaran company in Fiji and growing up on Malolo Lailai gave him his whole life as a professional seaman. Dodo is a Fiji qualified class 6 captain with 20000 + miles of commercial operations experience.
Vessel manager Adam Yared developed Namotu island in the early 90s and is a founder of surf travel and exploration in Fiji. Having known “dodo” for all this time makes it a great partnership. Adam is a qualified vessel master and dual Fiji and Australian citizen. Having spent over 20 years in commercial operations in Fiji taking surfers, fisherman and adventurers to remote island groups will give you an insight into something special.
You will have a captain, chef and a deckhand on all charters – we can also allow you to do your own cooking within reason as long as the vessel is kept clean and tidy.
